  • How long will the current RIVIO Clearinghouse platform remain active?
    The current RIVIO Clearinghouse platform and any projects within it will be available through January 14th, 2026.
  • Why is RIVIO transitioning?
    With many recent advancements in encryption and digital signature technology, a standalone clearinghouse is no longer required to share documents securely.
  • Is there any further action I need to take?
    No. CPA.com has spoken with or notified all accounting firms, their clients, and 3rd party recipients of this change.
  • Can I download my data from the RIVIO Clearinghouse?
    Yes, you can download your data at any time between now and January 14th, 2026, by following the steps below.
    1. Login to secure.rivio.com.
      1. If you need to reset your password you can do so by clicking, “Need help signing in?” and enter your email address for a reset link to be sent. Please check your spam and junk folders. If it has not gone through, check with your company’s IT to ensure that customer.support@rivio.com is whitelisted.
    2. Once logged in, you can click on the “All” tab to view your projects.
    3. Any documents needed can be downloaded by clicking on the project title and then the download icon of a cloud with an arrow.

  • How and when can I get started with Embedded RIVIO?
    You can start using Embedded RIVIO with Circit on December 1st, 2025. Contact Circit at www.circit.io/contact-us immediately.
  • Do I have to learn how to use new software?
    Embedded RIVIO will be available to you directly within tools you already use, such as PBCs, customer portals and file-sharing platforms — making the process more seamless and efficient.
  • How will Embedded RIVIO work?
    Through Circit, your firm will be able to embed and encrypt a RIVIO badge into sensitive documents that certifies the firm has gone through the AICPA’s Peer Review process. Then, you will be able to share these documents with your clients through whatever means you prefer, and your clients will be able to forward these documents to third parties such as banks, investors, or regulators.

  • Do all RIVIO users, including examiners, know about this change?
    Yes. CPA.com sent notifications and developed collateral for various agencies to distribute to the appropriate parties.
  • Can credit unions, private businesses, and recipients sign up for the new Embedded RIVIO?
    Embedded RIVIO is intended for firm use only. You will still benefit from your accounting firm’s use of the RIVIO capabilities, but your organization will no longer need to access a specific RIVIO tool. Accounting firms will use the RIVIO capabilities to embed and encrypt a RIVIO badge into sensitive documents that certifies the document is the legitimate author of the document and the firm has the proper certifications.
  • What does it mean if the firm I work with transitions to Embedded RIVIO?
    The accounting firm will send your audit report by email or other secure file sharing tools. No need to access a separate system to retrieve files or badges.
